Join us for I Love A Clean San Diego’s 22nd annual KIDS OCEAN DAY Fall 2020 TBD!

We are excited to bring local students to Mission Beach for one of our favorite events, KIDS OCEAN DAY San Diego.

“KIDS OCEAN DAY is about that first WOW moment of pure JOY, when a kid, who has never been to the beach before, steps off the bus, sees the BEAUTY, falls in love, and thinks they can save the EARTH. We believe that first moment of discovery is the catalyst for a lifetime of caring for the planet.” –Michael Klubock, KIDS OCEAN DAY Founder

After receiving an environmental presentation in their schools from our educators, 1,000 elementary school students* will join us at the beach for a field trip to better connect with their environment. The students will participate in a beach cleanup and an aerial formation that sends a message about conservation. Additionally, a photographer in a helicopter will capture the aerial art image to share with the world! Be a part of this epic event!

We need adult volunteers to help us facilitate our KIDS OCEAN DAY San Diego event! This is an enormous undertaking with over 1,000 students, and it wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of passionate volunteers! Adult volunteers will be needed to help guide students from busses to the beach, facilitate the litter cleanup, and organize students to create our aerial image! All volunteers must be 18 or older.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with students and be part of an effort that will inspire the next generation of environmental leaders! We provide all supplies, snacks, and water for volunteers. We also verify community service hours and provide Letters of Appreciation.

*All schools have been selected for KIDS OCEAN DAY San Diego 2020. If your school is interested in participating in KIDS OCEAN DAY San Diego 2021, please email Brenna at bdolen@cleansd.org. Schools must meet eligibility requirements to participate.
Funding for Kids’ Ocean Day comes from the Coastal Commission’s Whale Tail Grants Program.
