REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Operations
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time, non-exempt (hourly)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Commensurate with experience; mileage reimbursement ($0.58 or current CA reimbursement rate); Paid Time Off (PTO) plan

The Marketing Specialist will lead the strategy, creation, content, tracking, and reporting for ILACSD’s social media, website, and email newsletters to increase awareness, engagement, and revenue.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of ILACSD’s marketing strategy, annual Communications Plan, and Communications budget, including a year-long 65th anniversary campaign in 2019
  • Oversee and update the organization’s website and its social media sites
  • Lead the writing and design of the organization’s email newsletters, including subscription list management, tracking metrics, and promotional strategy to encourage sign ups
  • Assist in the review of press releases and other marketing content
  • Assists with coordination of ILACSD’s fundraising events and fundraising campaigns as needed
  • Support the Executive Director and organization where necessary

OTHER:

  • Coordinate and execute corporate teambuilding cleanups as needed
  • Attend the organization’s cleanups, booths, and events when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience and thorough understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Non-profit experience preferred
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Passion for the environment; knowledge of environmental issues
  • Self-starter and independently motivated
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to working in a team environment
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Mail Chimp, Word Press preferred
