Corporate CleanBuilding: Environmental Team Building Activities

Corporate CleanBuilding Now Hosted Virtually

I Love A Clean San Diego County’s impact-driven, team building cleanup activities for businesses goes virtual.

We get it. It is critically important to stay healthy and safe during this time. It is even more important now than ever to keep teams united to increase team morale, sustain productivity and retain employee satisfaction.

Our Corporate CleanBuilding program provides customizable and educational cleanup activities for impact-minded businesses. Now offered in a virtual format, we organize a “walk your block” cleanup for employees to work together, but apart. Individual team members beautify the blocks around their neighborhood while staying virtually connected to their team all over San Diego County! We can even organize this experience for larger corporations with offices throughout the state!

Why A Cleanup?

By 2050 the world’s oceans will hold more weight in plastic pollution than fish. Trash that does not make its way to landfills ends up traveling into our rivers, storm drain systems and eventually flows directly into the Pacific Ocean. No matter where volunteers choose to clean up litter, they will prevent pollution in San Diego County’s eleven watersheds and support a healthy ecosystem.

Why Choose I Love A Clean San Diego?

As San Diego County’s most influential advocate for sustainability, I Love A Clean San Diego has over 65 years of experience. We have always been dedicated to leading and inspiring action to empower our community to improve the health and beauty of our local environment. Our team coordinates over 34,000 volunteers annually who remove half a million pounds of litter and debris from San Diego’s neighborhoods, creeks and coastline.

What to Expect

Our Community Programs Team will plan all event details. First things first! Schedule the big day. We work with your company to identify a date and time that works best for your team. Get your team registered. We handle all registration needs for your employees through our Community Hub and offer support for any questions along the way. Track your accomplishments. We will work with you to set a litter removal goal for your team and provide access to a personalized Volunteer Impact Map. This is a visualization of cleanup locations for each team member, and the total debris removed from your team’s efforts! Employees may also upload photos of their cleanup. You will be able to show your entire company an immediate visual of your efforts!

Keep Teams Connected

Prior to your cleanup, we facilitate an online virtual kick-off so the team can tune in for tips on best cleanup practices. Get creative with this time! The virtual kick-off will be led by I Love A Clean San Diego staff and include all registered participants. We take this opportunity to share the impact of plastic pollution, litter prevention and urban runoff impact on our environment. This is a chance to solidify some of the ideas and concepts that inspire our efforts. It can also begin a conversation toward new waste reducing habits at home and work.

Your employees will be well equipped with cleanup guidelines. These include heath and safety regulations regarding COVID-19, recycling and trash tips for the San Diego Region, resources for proper waste disposal and more!

Zero Waste Cleanup

We strive for reduced waste at our cleanups! You can plan a truly zero waste cleanup by using your own reusable supplies. We will provide suggestions for a zero waste cleanup from repurposed household items. If supplies are needed, upgrade your event with our upcycled branded buckets and grabbers.
