Every year thousands of people flock to our beautiful beaches for the summer holidays, and every year our beaches are left covered in trash. Help ILACSD and Surfrider clean up the litter left at Mission Beach before it can reach our ocean! Last year, 138 volunteers collected 506 pounds of debris and 3,062 cigarette butts in just three short hours. Volunteers will meet at Mission Beach Park to learn about the effects of marine debris and litter left behind!
As with all of our volunteer events, we encourage you to bring your own reusable cleanup supplies—buckets, gloves and water bottles—though we’ll have extras on hand, too. Each volunteer will need to have a signed waiver form, and volunteers under the age of 18 will need an additional parent/guardian signature. To register, follow this link.
