Each year our volunteers remove half a million pounds of debris from San Diego’s neighborhoods, creeks, canyons and coastline.
In 2015, 78% of our volunteers pledged to bring either work gloves, a water bottle, or their own bucket to a cleanup! Choosing reusables at our cleanups helps to reduce the amount of waste that we create, making our cleanups more sustainable.
In 2015, our zero waste database, WasteFreeSD.org, and call center directed 23,000 gallons of paint and motor oil from San Diego’s landfills.
Each year, our environmental educators foster awareness amongst 30,000 San Diegans, encouraging them to incorporate small changes that greatly benefit our shared environment.
